Green Coffee Extract Miracle Weight Loss Disputed

Remember all the hoopla about a year back when a study seemed to show that green coffee bean extract really, truly does help people lose weight? Just to refresh the memory, the researchers theorized that the chlorogenic acid (CGA) in raw coffee beans may prevent the body from absorbing glucose, thereby effectively lowering the percentage of calories that your body actually absorbs. The study only followed 16 people for 22 weeks, but that didn’t stop a few big names from declaring green coffee bean extract a miracle weight loss cure and sparking an avalanche of products touting green coffee bean extract as their miracle ingredient.

Well, hold onto your hat. A new coffee bean extract study done by scientists in Australia suggests that not only does the coffee bean extract have no effect on body fat, it may actually have a negative impact on insulin resistance.
